Overview
The Training Planning & Coordination Division at NRSC provides training courses in Geospatial Technology and Applications for the user community. Tailored training initiatives are developed for Institutional capacity enhancement within National projects such as NHP and ISRO DMSP, catering specifically to officials from various Central and State Government Departments. Additionally, to foster the adoption of the Bhuvan Geoportal among users, webinar-based training sessions titled ‘Bhuvan Overview’ are conducted. These sessions aim to encourage the use of web-based Geospatial products and services focused on the Indian region. The objective is to foster greater utilization of Geospatial data for the improvement of operational efficiency, scientific research, and application projects that benefit society at large. Please see the following table for information on upcoming training courses.
Need: Remote Sensing, GIS, and Geo-web information services have become crucial platforms for deploying efficient spatial information technologies. These technologies are essential for devising methods adept at acquiring, analyzing, and managing spatial and non-spatial attribute data. Globally, Geospatial technologies are increasingly important, empowering decision-makers to utilize spatial data to effectively manage Natural resources, Disaster Management, Governance, and the promotion of Sustainable Development Management & Practices.
Courses Offered: Customized and theme-oriented courses are designed to enhance the capabilities of the user community, enabling them to maximize the use of space-derived inputs across various applications. Annually, approximately 20 courses are offered, training around 500 officials and academic scholars.
User Community: Professionals affiliated with Government, Industry, Autonomous entities, and NGOs, along with faculty and researchers from Academic Institutions involved in the realm of Geospatial Technologies and their applications, are eligible to apply for the training.
