The Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology is an autonomous research Institute of the Department of the science & Technology, Govt. of India. Established in June, 1968 as a small nucleus in two rooms of the Botany Department, Delhi University, the Institute was shifted to Dehra Dun during April, 1976. Previously named as the Institute of Himalayan Geology, it was renamed as the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology in memory of its founder- the late Prof. D. N. Wadia, (F.R.S. and National Professor), in appreciation to his contributions to geology of the Himalayas.

Eligibility
- 1 st class M.Sc./ M.Sc.(Tech)/ M.Tech from a reputed university/college in Computer Science & Engineering/Computer Applications/Information Technology/ Artificial Intelligence/Data Sciences / Geoinformatics/Geosciences/Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Remote Sensing and GIS/ Environmental Sciences/ Geology

General Instructions
- The qualifications and experience mentioned are of the minimum requirement. The Institute reserves the right to short list the candidates based on their merit record, qualifications, experience and suitability of Project need.
- The Institute reserves the right not to fill any position, if suitable candidates are not found.
- SC/ST and OBC candidates must furnish attested copies of their category certificate issued by the competent authority.
- Column no. 14 of application proforma is mandatory to fill.
- Age relaxation is available as per Govt. of India norms.
- The above mentioned positions are purely contractual and co-terminus with the tenure of the relevant sponsored project. Under no circumstances regularization of the services of the concerned appointee in the Institute within the sponsored project framework will take place.
- In case the performance of the selected candidate is not found satisfactory, the fellowship shall be terminated at any stage of the project tenure.
- The Institute reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason.
- No interim enquiries will be entertained. Canvassing in any form and bringing any influence will be treated as a disqualification.
- Only selected candidates will be informed about their selection within a fortnight from the date of interview.
