The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is a statutory body and a national-level council for technical education under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. It was established in 1945 as an advisory body to assist and coordinate the development of technical education in India. AICTE is responsible for accrediting undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering and technology, management, pharmacy, architecture, and applied arts and crafts, among others. It also plays a key role in formulating and implementing policies for the promotion and regulation of technical education in India.
