Interested applicants are invited to attend a walk-in interview, conducted in a hybrid (online/offline) mode, for the position of Junior Research Fellow at IIT Jammu. The interview is in relation to the project “Development of State Specific Action Plan for Water Sector of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir,” sanctioned by the Department of Jal Shakti, Govt. of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The project aims to achieve comprehensive water database development, investigate water resource planning and management, analyze surface and groundwater utilization, study irrigation and agriculture, address water governance issues, and tackle various water resources challenges.

Educational Qualification

- The candidate must have sound knowledge of Water Resource Engineering, Hydrology, &
Remote Sensing and GIS.
- The candidate should have good knowledge of technical writing.
- The candidate must have a logical understanding, analytical and computational capability, hands-on experience in Remote Sensing & GIS software.
- Knowledge of MATLAB/Python programming, and GATE qualification will be an added
advantage - Candidates having the following background can apply for this position
- M. Tech./M.S. in Water Resource Engineering/Hydrology/Geoinformatics/Remote The candidate must have sound knowledge of Water Resource Engineering, Hydrology, &
Remote Sensing and GIS. - B. Tech./B. E./M.Sc. in Water Resource Engineering/Hydrology/Geoinformatics/Remote Sensing & GIS or equivalent field from a reputed institute with 70% aggregate marks or 7.0 CGPA
- The candidate who has submitted their M.Tech. or M.Sc. thesis and waiting for the result are also eligible to apply.
- B. Tech. /M.Sc. from IITs/NITs/IISERs are eligible to apply with a minimum 7.0 CGPA with a valid NET/GATE Score.
- Age limit is 30 years for the general category and for SC/ST/OBC/ Women/PH age limit may be relaxed as per GoI norms
- Candidates with similar experience will be preferred.

- Graduate degree with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade, and

- Good Knowledge of Government of India rules & regulations.
- Candidates having one-year experience related to administrative duties preferably in
Industrial/Academic/Government Institutions. - Candidates having excellent command of speaking and writing in English are preferable.
- Furthermore, the candidate should have a good typing speed and must be fluent in computer use.
- These may be tested at the time of the selection procedure.
- The candidate has to be versatile enough to move frequently from one office/premises to another
while handling documents.
