The Council has a pan India presence with its 9 Regional Research Institutes and 5 Centers in different bio-geographical regions of the country. It is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF & CC), Government of India.

- The award of the fellowship is governed by the Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education. Dehradun rules and doesn’t guarantee subsequent employment in any institute under the council.
- A candidate who has already completed 4 years as RA/SRF/SPF/JRF/JPF will not be considered as per ICFRE rules.
- Ph.D. period will not be counted as research experience.
- If you are already working somewhere, then you will bring NOC from that last institute.
